In the past, companies experiencing rapid growth could predict their needs and hire accordingly. For modern companies like Deck, in a world of virtually infinite leverage, hiring is less about scaling capacity and more about enhancing team chemistry. Our focus is on “grooming” talented, culturally aligned candidates and moving forward when the timing is right. If you’re a fit, we might move quickly—or it might require a bit of patience.

Roles will include:

  • Sales: go-to-market type of roles. We'll be looking for both individual contributors, as well as individuals with strong sales leadership potential.
  • Tech: we will be looking for a few folks with an unorthodox mindset: we don't believe scaling the tech should mean scaling the team much. We need the perfect team size to complement one another in terms of skills, experiences, and focus.

What we will not hire:

  • Sales managers: we don't believe in the old model of sitting comfortably in your closed office, and looking at spreadsheets all day. You're a leader? You'll have to be in the field, and lead by example. Source deals for your guys (and eventually gals), help them close, and even close deals yourself once in a while. A leadership role on Deck's sales team doesn't mean the "tough" job of the frontline is behind you.
